Apple introduced three new smartphones last year: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. Although the differences between them are small, their prices differ significantly.
You can get the first model in Slovenia for 836 euros, the second for 953 euros, while you will have to shell out as much as 1,200 euros for the third. Given the price difference, you'd expect the iPhone 8 to be unable to compete with the iPhone X. Nevertheless, there is many reasons why it is better to buy a cheaper version of an Apple phone.
1. The iPhone X is more expensive than the iPhone 8.
With the 364 euros that you will save when buying an iPhone 8, you can afford many other things that will satisfy your needs.
2. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus contain the same chip and processor as the iPhone X.
All phones are powered by Apple's A11 Bionic chip and M11 processor. All three models use the iOS 11 operating system for their operation, so they offer the same applications.
3. Touch ID is faster than Face ID.
iPhone 10 is unlocked using Face ID. In contrast, the iPhone 8 uses traditional fingerprint recognition - Touch ID. The latter method is more reliable and faster.
4. All models support fast and wireless charging.
Unfortunately, we will have to shell out some extra money for the accessories we need to charge using these new methods.
5. iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X have almost identical rear cameras.
The only difference is that the iPhone X offers optical image stabilization, which is mainly intended for better quality photos taken in low light.
6. The front cameras are also practically the same.
The cameras of both phones take photos in 7 MP resolution and videos in 1080p resolution. iPhone X has a few additional features: Portrait Mode, Portrait Lightning and Animoji.
7. iPhone 8 can be protected with an iPhone 7 case.
This information is important for those who want to exchange iPhone 7 for iPhone 8. The differences between these two phones in dimensions are very small, so your old case will fit the new phone.
8. The iPhone 8 has a more durable battery than the iPhone 10.
While on average the iPhone 10 lasts 12 to 13 hours in standby mode, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus can be used for up to 14 to 15 hours.
