Smaller independent car brand Wiesmann has been flying under the automotive radar for the past few years, but now it's back with a retro-looking electric car, the Wiesmann Project Thunderball.

Not long ago, the Wiesmann company installed engines supplied by BMW in their cars, but this time you won't find their engine under the hood, or rather you won't find an internal combustion engine at all. Wiesmann Project Thunderball it is a fully electric sports roadster.

Project Thunderball boasts another interesting feature. Both electric motors are installed behind, which ensures a playful rear, one of the few electric cars on the market the last one drive. In the form of the new Wiesmann can be traced retro inspiration. It only takes this from its predecessors, with which it shares the shape of the front grille, the shape of the lights and the shape of the bonnet. The retro interior has some modern touches, such as a large touchscreen and sports seats that are made of carbon fiber.

The Wiesmann Project Thunderball boasts impressive numbers. The electric motors are supplied just 500 kW (680 hp) of power and 1,100 newton meters of torque. An electric roadster that weighs 1,700 kilograms, needs to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h only 2.9 seconds. Battery with capacity 83 kWh can be charged with power 300 kW, and with a full load we can drive up to 500 kilometers a long way. The electric sportsman will have at his disposal 5 levels regenerative braking. Unfortunately, more is not known at this time, so we don't know when Project Thunderball will be available, how much it will cost, and how limited the series can be. Wiesmann cars will still be manufactured in the German location Dülmen.
