The presentation of the new Samsung smartphones of the S series is one of the most high-profile events every year. Namely, Samsung always shows a phone that all manufacturers want to surpass in the current year, but it is difficult for them to do so. It will be the same this year, because Samsung did everything right. He created a winning trio of great Android phones - the S family.
The S series is therefore the most anticipated technological event of the year for Android phones in the land of "geeks". Also because, with its flagship phone, Samsung is the one that sets the technological standards in the category of premium Android phones. Right at the beginning of the year. And it is the series - i.e. the "triple S", due to its width and range, that represents smartphones that are practically impossible to surpass. It is not only the data on paper, i.e. the dry statistics of numbers, that contradicts this, but the feelings of integrity, both hardware and software. And finally, sales numbers in the premium class of Android phones.
Most technological phone evaluators agree that it is the "package" of Samsung phones that convinces with its integrity. Regardless of the fact that the competition is really trying to surpass these phones in certain numbers, but never actually as a "complete" package.
This year, Samsung is secretly expanding its family of smartphones, but it doesn't admit it out loud. After discontinuing the "Note" brand last year and provisionally integrating it into the S series, this year he is continuing this story in a different way. So it is with the most premium phone of the S series – Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, add everything that users of Note devices loved. S-pen is finally integrated again, it means that the user can store it in the "phone". In a way, the typical design of the Note series has also returned, which is mainly reflected in the more angular design of this year's S22 Ultra. So very characteristic of the Note model. At the same time, part of the Galaxy S22 family remained with "last year's" design - of course with certain minimal corrections - of course in a positive direction!
The winning trio – S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra
So there are still three different models. The S22 and S22+ are designed identically and differ only in dimensions. So the smaller S22 has a medium 6.1" screen and will appeal to those who want a beautiful, but slightly smaller phone. And the larger S22+, which has a 6.8" screen. This one is quite similar to the S22 Ultra model in terms of the size of the screen diagonal, with identical dimensions. This dimension is the same as last year's flagship models and a rather expected and logical step in the same direction.
Maybe first about the common features of all three smartphones. They are powered by a 4nm Exynos 2200 processor or Snapdragon 8 – Gen1 in global markets. The progress is mainly in the construction of the processor, which has traditionally been reduced by 1 nm every year, thus enabling manufacturers to achieve better efficiency and lower energy consumption. The working memory is from 8 GB to 12 GB. The phones can also store up to 512 GB of data. As befits the S22 series, all phones are waterproof to the IP68 standard. They are protected by the latest Gorilla Glass Victus+ screen protection, which protects the phone's screen, which is the proverbial weakest point. The latter is again the one that will impress, as it has a simple description on paper - AMOLED 2X, 120Hz - but behind which in practice quite advanced and excellent screen technology is always hidden. So this is the latter, which adds those "points" to Samsung in the overall evaluation of the phone, which always guarantee it the throne among all phones. Of course, the smartphone can be charged extremely quickly – up to 45W for the better two models and up to 25W for the regular S22. There is contactless charging that can handle 15W on all models. This will especially come in handy in cars and "smart" surfaces. And it is a necessary standard in this class. The differences are somehow in the range of photo capabilities, where certain sugars are also reserved for the flagship S22 Ultra this year.

Photography is always a step forward, a second look
Experts and connoisseurs will immediately notice that the numbers on paper are suspiciously similar to those of the previous year. For example, the main camera of the “Ultra” model on paper records exactly the same data as in 2021. So – 108 MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.33″, 0.8µm, PDAF, Laser AF, OIS. The second one - that is, the telephoto lens camera - has been slightly changed, but only for information on the focal length - 72 mm, the value has dropped by 70 mm. There is also a completely identical wide-angle camera - i.e. 13mm (ultra wide) - the third camera of the system on the back of the camera. This same story is joined by the "sebek" camera, which is capable of 40MP and has comparable data to that of the previous model.
The Samsung Galaxy S series cameras have always produced outstanding image and video results. For example, excellent video recording in 8k resolution at 24fps already this year. Samsung points out that, despite the apparent similarity of the recorded data, the photo of the new models achieves better results, which are the result of improved processes - these post-production artificial intelligence, which, of course, greatly improves the capture results.
