Apple Airpods Max wireless headphones: Apple's first headphones

Headphones Apple AirPods Max are available in five colors: space gray, silver, sky blue, green and pink. They are distinguished by what Apple calls "custom sound design", with a 40mm driver system, “providing rich, deep lows, precise mids and crisp, clean high-frequency extension so that every note can be heard.”

Apple introduced a number of features that appear for the first time in the AirPods line, such as adjustable EQ, pass mode, surround sound and audio sharing. There is even an element from the Apple Watch on the headphones - the Digital Crown. Apple says that this one "offers precise volume control and the ability to play or pause audio, skip tracks, answer or end phone calls, and activate Siri." There's also a separate noise control knob for switching between noise cancellation and transmittance modes.

The air mesh covering the headband is designed to distribute weight and reduce pressure on the head. The stainless steel band frame provides strength, flexibility and comfort for a wide variety of head shapes and sizes, and the headphones also stretch smoothly and stay in place, helping to maintain the desired fit. Each ear cup se attaches to the headband with a mechanism that balances and distributes pressure and allows for independent rotation and rotation, thus conforming to the unique contours of the user's head. Memory foam pads provide additional comfort.

Apple AirPods Max offer 20 hour battery life and are charged via the Apple connector Lightning – not USB-C. If you're in a hurry, a five-minute charge gives you 90 minutes of playback. Headphones automatically mute the sound, when you take them out of your ears, and they continue playing when you put them back on your head.

There is also "smart bag" for AirPods Max, which automatically switches them to a low-power state. Unfortunately, Apple currently doesn't seem to sell a case that can protect the headphones a bit better.

Like Bose, Sony and others, it has Apple's noise canceling system six microphones, directed outwards, with which it produces anti-noise to silence external sound. Two inward-facing microphones measure what you're hearing, eliminating additional distractions. Apple also claims that the AirPods Max come with built-in microphones they work well for voice calls (even in windy conditions).

By moving into the high-end headphone market, Apple will compete directly with brands like Bose, Sony, Sennheiser, AKG and others who have years of experience and a long list of products. Apple goes for a higher price than almost everyone else, but the company is currently "riding" the wave of AirPods and AirPods Pro, which dominate the wireless headphone market. The biggest question is, can the sound quality match the price. For much less, you can get the Sony 1000XM4 headphones that support LDAC, a wireless audio codec that can almost rival CD quality.
