December is not only a month of lights, decorations and fragrant cookies, but also a time when hearts open with the desire to share happiness and warmth. The Supernova group of shopping centers is spreading joy this year with a donation of €10,000, with which it joined the Santa for a Day project. In this festive symphony of love, Supernova gives Gift Cards to those who need a smile on their face the most - socially disadvantaged children and the elderly.

The largest chain of shopping centers in Slovenia, Supernova, this year supported Zavod 364 and their Santa for a Day project, which we have known for 12 years. With their help, Supernova z Supernova gift cards gifted and made 36 Slovenian families happy households, which include both children and the elderly. A part of the donation will be used to supplement the inadequately prepared packages received by individuals and to buy missing gifts, so that everyone will be happy with Christmas presents.

In order to relieve families at least a little of their daily worries and make their holidays more beautiful, together with social work centers, schools, youth centers and other similar organizations, they will take care of the selection of recipients and the handing over of gift cards in time. Recipients of Supernova Gift Cards were searched with the help of institutions in municipalities where Supernova shopping centers are located. The gift recipients will use the received gift cards in 19 Supernova shopping centers around Slovenia and choose a gift according to their wishes.

The Supernova Group cares for a higher quality of life for local communities, families and individuals, therefore the approach to the Santa for a Day project is one of a series of annual charity projects that realize this part of the group's mission and goals.

Santa Claus has been putting smiles on faces for 12 years for one day

With action Santa Claus for a day started at the beginning of November, when they published Santa's list of children and the elderly. It is a project with a personal touch that, with the right mix of creativity and humanity, offers people a unique opportunity to give back. All over Slovenia, Santa Clauses choose a specific child and/or elderly person and prepare gifts for them. The carefully prepared gift is delivered to one of the campaign's many collection points, and those responsible for the project make sure that this precious cargo then gets into the right hands. Last year, as many as 10,595 children and 3,979 elderly people gave gifts to Santa for one day.

Santa Claus has collected the gifts for one day and at this moment they are already on their way to the recipients! For more information about the project, visit bozicekzaendan.si.

About the Supernova group

The Supernova Group is an international company based in Graz, focused on the development and management of commercial real estate in Austria, Croatia and Slovenia. In addition to the aforementioned key markets, the Supernova Group is also active in Germany, Slovakia and Romania. The group's current portfolio comprises 90 properties (and seven undeveloped sites) and has a gross asset value of EUR 1.85 billion.
They entered the Slovenian market in 2002 with the development of two do-it-yourself stores and two shopping centers in Ljubljana and Koper. In 2008, a significant part of the Slovenian portfolio was sold to Pramerica and the Supernova Ljubljana Rudnik shopping center was opened.
In 2019, the Supernova Group achieved the leading retail position on the Slovenian market in terms of the number of shopping centers and the total leased area. Initially, the Supernova group took over ten commercial buildings from Mercator's portfolio (Ljubljana Šiška, Kranj Primskovo, Kranj Savski otok, Ajdovščina, Celje, Jesenice, Koper, Slovenj Gradec, Novo mesto, Postojna). In the same year, Supernova continued its successful expansion by acquiring 11 shopping centers from Centrice Real Estate GmbH of the American Lone Star Fund.

In recent months, the Supernova Group has worked hard to increase the quality of services, the offer and the entire infrastructure of the acquired centers. They also invested in marketing activities and united all their centers under the same visual identity – the Supernova brand. The process of renaming the Mercator and Qlandia centers to Supernova centers has been completed.
So far, Supernova has invested more than 500 million euros in its 24 operational projects, which employ over 10,000 people, through investment and development activities in Slovenia.
With intelligent development and strategic acquisitions, the Supernova Group plans the further growth of the group while respecting a conservative financing structure, while at the same time investing in growing markets such as real estate and renewable energy sources.
