The new Volkswagen Tayron is the brand's second largest SUV in Europe, which, with its seven seats, advanced hybrid drives and superior roominess, firmly places itself between the Touareg and the Tiguan. With an electric range of over 100 km, the Tayron is the right choice for daily driving and long journeys. Could it become the new favorite of families and adventurers alike?

Volkswagen is back at work! This time he brought his latest trump card to the European scene – Tayron. Large, spacious and equipped with advanced technology, the Tayron bridges the gap between luxury Touaregs and favorites Tiguans. But what is what Tayrona makes it so special? Well, let's start with the fact that you can equip it with seven seats - which means you'll finally be able to take that friend you always forget at home. But kidding aside, the Tayron boasts its impressive size at first glance, measuring a whopping 4.8 meters in length.

External attractiveness and internal comfort

Tyrone boasts a recognizable SUV design that combines clean lines, LED headlights and illuminated Volkswagen logo, which creates an unforgettable light image at night. For lovers of minimalist design, there is also ArtVelours Eco - a special microfiber that decorates the interior and brings a sense of prestige. But if you are more interested in the technological side, you should be impressed by the Tayron's 32-centimeter infotainment system screen, which includes wireless connection with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also 10-color ambient lighting, which allows you to drive in style - regardless of the weather outside.

And speaking of space, the base five-seat Tayron offers a whopping 885 liters of boot space – more than enough for all your luggage, camping gear and, if you're lucky, a pile of European tolls. With the option of seven seats, there will be no problems organizing trips with family and friends.

Motors and drives

Volkswagen Tayron it shines not only on the surface, but also under the hood. As many as seven different drives will be available, and among them the stars of the new generation are also two plug-in hybrids (eHybrid), which enable an electric range of more than 100 kilometers. Ideal for daily errands around town or emission-free driving in city centers where it seems that soon a parking space will be worth more than a car. With a battery capacity of 19.7 kWh (net), the Tayron eHybrid can travel long distances without having to stop at every other charging point.

For those who swear by power and towing capacity, Tyrone does not disappoint. Its largest TDI diesel engine with 142 kW (193 hp) is equipped with 4MOTION four-wheel drive and can tow a trailer weighing up to 2.5 tonnes – more than enough to tow a horse trailer, a sailboat or simply move a friend's moving boxes.

Interior equipment and systems

Tayron already in the basic version Life it offers plenty of standard equipment, from nine airbags to three-speed climate control, 17-inch wheels and a top-of-the-line infotainment system. All this is complemented by a multitude of assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, a system to prevent collisions with pedestrians and cyclists, and Park Assist Plus, which will ensure that parking will not cause you gray hair. Although the Tayron impresses with existing technologies, Volkswagen goes one step further. As part of the advanced options, it even offers you an assistant ChatGPT for voice control, which will help you along the way with everything from weather forecasts to restaurant recommendations.

Affordability and variants

Volkswagen Tyrone is not positioned as the most affordable model, but offers the right ratio between price and quality. For the basic Life version with a 110 kW eTSI engine, you will pay 45,475 euros. While for those aiming for the performance of a plug-in hybrid or the top diesel version, the price will of course be higher, but you can be sure that the Tayron will justify every euro.

Conclusion

Volkswagen Tayron is here to fill the gap between more affordable Tiguans and luxury Touaregs, and it does so with a sense of style and functionality. It's big enough to accommodate all your loved ones (and maybe even their friends), but at the same time stylish enough to look great both on the mountain trails and in front of the city cafe. With a wide range of engines, advanced hybrid drives and plenty of technology, the Tayron delights families and adventurers alike.

Of course, at a price above 45,000 euros Tayron isn't aimed at everyone, but if you're looking spacious SUV, which combines practicality, performance and prestige, then it could be your next choice.
