Xiaomi cars?! What do we get when a tech giant known for smartphones starts making cars? The Xiaomi SU7 – an electric super-sedan that has created quite a stir in its native China. So well-designed that even the boss of Ford was speechless with excitement (and that's without a software update to the emotions). Demand? Still so hot you could sell it with a fire extinguisher.

A Xiaomi is not resting on its laurels. On the contrary – after the SU7, it also introduced the YU7, its first SUV, which has also already received initial applause. But Xiaomi does not want to be just the king of its home village. It is aiming globally. The next target? Europe. Xiaomi cars are going west.

Xiaomi is coming to Europe (and it's not just bringing phones)

According to reports Bloomberg Xiaomi will launch its car fleet on the European market by 2027. The announcement came as it revealed record-breaking results for the second quarter – 81,000 EVs delivered and over 30,000 vehicles sold in July alone. And what’s more: orders for the YU7 exploded with 240,000 reservations in just 18 hours. So – China clearly really loves its new Ferrari… at the price of a Toyota.

Not to be outdone by the numbers, the SU7 Ultra once again broke its own record in April at the Nürburgring – the iconic racetrack for anything with at least three horses under the hood. So Xiaomi is clearly not just aiming for the daily commute to kindergarten.

Tesla, are you still breathing? Xiaomi cars are coming

It even went so far as to say that analysts at Morgan Stanley (usually big Tesla fans) admitted: Sorry Tesla, but your Chinese imitators have beaten you to your own game. In May, analyst Adam Jonas cynically recommended that investors take a look at the Xiaomi YU7 and wonder if it might be time for more electric vehicles… with real steering wheels. Oops.

Why Europe? Because America isn't ready yet (or is just overcomplicating)

Xiaomi is wisely skipping the US for now – too many tariffs, too much politics, too much Tesla. And Europe? An ideal destination. Customs duties on Chinese EVs are bearable, almost non-existent for hybrids, and buyers – if they like a vehicle that's fast, beautiful and semi-futuristic – are happy to open their wallets.

Other Chinese names like Zeekr, BYD and Leapmotor are already thriving on the old continent. Xiaomi would be right at home in this competition. Especially considering that it knows how to play its old game: offer more for less and leave the competition in the dust… or at least in Excel.

What's coming and how much will it cost?

There is no official information yet on which models are coming to Europe. But if we know Xiaomi, then we can almost certainly count on the SU7 and YU7. Prices? Also unknown. But history teaches us: Xiaomi does not come with diplomacy – it comes with a price that makes the competition cry and users ecstasy.

Conclusion: Xiaomi is no longer just a "phone company" - it is an automotive phenomenon

Xiaomi cars for the West. With a combination of engineering precision, sophisticated user experience and price aggression, Xiaomi is rushing into the European market with electric speed. The question is no longer or, but when We will see their super-sedans and SUVs on our roads. And given their success so far – it will be sooner rather than later.

Tesla, Volkswagen, Renault – get ready. Xiaomi is coming. And it's bringing more than just apps.
