Xiaomi's SUV with McLaren headlights and Porsche confidence

After the success of the SU7, Xiaomi announces a new electric SUV – the YU7. With a design reminiscent of the Ferrari Purosangue and McLaren-style headlights, the YU7 promises more than just technology at an affordable price. If Xiaomi corrects the defects in materials, Porsche has a serious problem.

With the SU7 model, Xiaomi has proven that their entry into the automotive world is more than just a marketing move. This sedan, which some have even compared to Porsche Taycan, shocked the automotive industry. No wonder they have already sold more than 130,000 copies. But now it's time for something higher, bigger and more prestigious - it's coming Xiaomi YU7, an electric SUV that could shake up the market even more.

Design: Ferrari + McLaren = Xiaomi?

When you first look at the YU7, it's clear that Xiaomi doesn't just follow trends, but dares to interpret them in its own way.

  • The front part: The headlights, strongly reminiscent of McLaren models, provide an aggressive look.
  • Side line: Here there is an obvious similarity with Ferrari Purosangue – sporty elegance that manages to be powerful and dynamic at the same time.
  • Robust accessories: Black trim on the fenders and side skirts add a touch of crossover, while they lifting hooks a sign of technological sophistication.

S 4999 mm long and 3000 mm wheelbase it promises a spacious interior while maintaining sporty proportions. Weight? Impressive, but not excessive 2405 kg. In the meantime 21-inch standard wheels they add even more boldness.

Capabilities that convince

The YU7 is powered by two electric motors that together develop 508 kW (approx 680 horsepower):

  • Front engine: 220 kW (295 hp)
  • Rear engine: 288 kW (386 hp)

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h should be close 4 seconds. Although the battery capacity has not yet been revealed, we expect a similar configuration to that of the SU7 - so around 90 kWh and close range 600 km. Fast charging will probably allow you to charge up to 80 % in 30 minutes.

Where is there still room for improvement?

Although the SU7 is almost Taycan-like on the road, there were a few disappointments – especially at materials inside. As he also pointed out tiktoker link, the interior does not reach the heights of European competitors. If Xiaomi gets it right with the YU7, Porsche and Tesla can start to seriously question how to move forward.

Price bomb

One of the biggest advantages of Xiaomi is the price. The SU7 is already available in China for €28,000 (price in China), which is as much as the Tesla Model 3 in the Chinese market (the Tesla is among the more expensive models). If Xiaomi YU7 maintains a similar strategy and lands around €35,000 to €40,000, it will be an explosion in the electric SUV market. In Europe, the price will be around 70,000 euros, if the car will come to this market.

Conclusion: Xiaomi YU7 – an SUV that shatters expectations

The Xiaomi YU7 is not just the next electric SUV. It is proof that tech giants can become serious players in the automotive industry within a few years. With the touch of a Ferrari, the performance of a Taycan and a price that seems like a nightmare to Tesla, the YU7 promises a lot.

If Xiaomi fixes the little things and improves the materials, we can expect this vehicle to become a symbol of the new era of electric mobility. Porsche, Tesla, get ready – summer 2025 it will be hot!
