The giant panda, which is so often seen in cartoons, on the logos of the most important institutions for the protection of wild animals, and which we like to hold close to us in the form of a plush toy, is a fascinating animal with its appearance and behavior. Because it is so rare in the natural environment, any ZOO that houses pandas is a real hit.
The closest to us is the Vienna Zoo Tiergarten Schönbrunn, which is also the oldest zoo in the world, founded as far back as 1752. It lies in the area of Schönnbrunn, the summer residence of the Habsburgs, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its beautiful baroque park and buildings. One of the beautiful buildings is also home to pandas. Fu Bao is the third cub born to Yang Yang and Long Hui, a remarkable feat for the zoo, as a female panda is only fertile for two days a year. Fu Bao is the real star of the Vienna Zoo, and in addition to the pandas, the attraction is also the new Polarium, an investment worth 11 million euros, which very realistically shows us the living conditions in which animals live in the Arctic Circle and Antarctica.
