Presentation: Honor 8 is proof that you overpaid for your smartphone

Honor 8

After Asia, which Huawei's Honor brand conquered some time ago, it is Europe's turn. And the weapon with which they want to cut off a significant piece of the market pie is the smartphone Honor 8. It is the ideal media tool for the demanding generation of millennials at a price that is a third lower than comparable phones. As the only Slovenian media, we are following the European presentation in Stockholm exclusively for you.

Honor 8 is therefore proof that you have overpaid for your smartphone, as this device will be on sale in Europe for 429 euros. At the same time, you will get an extraordinary amount of everything that is available in the class above 600 euros. Price information is key, as it appeals to a generation of buyers for whom price is one of the main factors in the purchase decision.

Honor 8 it's such a smart phone, which makes him burst with inner beauty, because he can stand next to his brother Huawei P9, whose specs are incredibly comparable (read: practically identical). That's how it delivers 5.2 inch screen, resolutions 1080p, dual camera with 12MP and a double sensor (RGB and monochrome sensor) on the back of the phone and a front camera for selfies, which rests 8MP. The heart of the smartphone – the processor is Huawei's own product – is an octa-core Kirin 950, which beats to the beat 2.3 GHz. It takes care of working memory 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, which of course with cards microSD expand to 128 GB. Energy is provided by a battery with capacity 3000 mAh, which supports fast charging via the USB-C port. Completely empty, it is thus filled to half in just over half an hour.

I could write here that there is nothing new in the East, but that is not the case. Honor 8 is aimed at millennials and other users who want a very powerful smartphone, so they are at Huawei devoted to properties that do just that generation they impress the most.

Honor 8 - is as if custom made for the generation between 16 and 25 years old. Only you demand the most from your smartphone.

And it looks like that from Huawei P9 it differs in that it already delivers in the basic configuration 4GB of RAM, which helps it run the multitude of applications that this generation uses simultaneously. There will therefore be less freezing and deleting of active applications. A less public feature, however, is the quality of sound reproduction, where the Honor 8 should sweep the competition in several areas. The user's safety is ensured by an extremely efficient sensor for reading fingerprints on the back of the phone, with which you can set many other functions of the phone, such as turning on the camera or taking selfies.

If the Honor 8 is beautiful "inside" and very similar to the Huawei P9, on the outside it is different and surpasses many smartphones in its own way. The edges of the phone are made of brushed aluminum, while covering the back of the phone high quality 2D glass, making it a great first impression. The phone is beautiful and performs like a phone from another price range. The dual lenses – i.e. the camera system on the back of the phone – are designed nicely and are less prominent than on the Huawei P9, where for some this part is even the weakest design point of the phone, which is otherwise one of the most beautiful in its class. Therefore, I can say that they have hit the nail on the head with the design itself and are blowing it the soul of the young and active users.

Systemic Honor 8 drives Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which has a customized user interface Emotion UI. The latter has recently been effectively updated and is becoming one of the better and more intuitively usable. So everything "fits" and is in line with what a modern user expects from his phone.

The Honor 8 is therefore the younger brother of the Huawei P9. In some features, it even surpasses it, or these are more emphatically intended for young people. It is one of the first phones that is environmentally friendly and even exceeds certain environmental norms. Attention was also paid to ecological factors in the packaging of the phone and the printing of the instructions, which are, for example, printed with ink obtained from soybeans. This is also how they appeal to young people and try to be socially responsible. On the back next to the cameras Honor 8 does not have Leica branding. And that's also why it can be so much cheaper than Huawei P9. If this trivial little thing doesn't bother you, then you can Honor 8 look for it on the shelves of operators in the coming days.
