Some newcomers are truly blank slates as far as movie roles go, and those clean-cut beards will likely play characters like Leia, Han, and Luke when they were kids.

From the first wave of applications until today, quite a few names have accumulated on the list. Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie and Billie Lourd (Carrie Fisher's daughter), and Jessica Henwicj, James McCardle, Tony Bailey and Sam Carr are also expected to be there. With these, we can already connect the characters, while those unknowns remain for Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Christina Chong, Miltos Yerolemou, Greg Grunberg, Warwick David, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, Cecept Arif Rahman, Amybeth Hargreaves and Leanna Best.
The robot droid will be named BB-8

Thankfully, Abrams and company are aware of the pitfalls of computer animation. In the new sequel, more practical effects will be used. This means a combination of real locations and special effects, real models and real droids. They will take advantage of creations that you can actually touch and feel, making the animation real.

Pretty good news, if we remember that he did his job quite well the first time.
Episode VIII and spin-offs are already in the works
The next date that Star Wars fans should mark on their calendars is May 26, 2017. That's when Episode VIII hits theaters. Rian Johnson (Looper) will direct the eighth part of the saga, which will take place 40 years and a day after A New Hope. Even earlier, at the time of Christmas in 2016, a treat awaits us in the form of a spin-off - Rogue One by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) with Felicity Jones. Another derivative will be overseen by Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four).
The story
