Movie Trailer: Bastards (2017)

Movie Bastards (2017)

What would you do if you found out that your life is one big lie? What if that lie shaped your personality and chose your career path? What if your father was a world star? The comedy Bastards tries to answer all these questions. Owen Wilson and Ed Helms go on the hunt for their father after their mother admits that she made everything up about their father and that he did not die of colon cancer. Laughter guaranteed!

You may not know the name Lawrence Sher, the film's director Bastards, but you certainly know his works. It is uncle from the background films such as Crossed Night, Garden State, Dear Wait, I'm On My Way and War Dogs (as director of photography). Now he tried his hand at the role of director for the first time. In the film, we follow twin brothers, who are portrayed by them Owen Wilson (Zoolander, Bridesmaids, Midnight in Paris, Marley and Me) as Kyle Reynolds and Ed Helms (Night Crossed, We're the Millers, Super Dave) as Peter Reynolds, who spent their whole lives thinking their father died of cancer when they were little. And when their mother (Glenn Close, Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons, 101 Dalmatians) reveals that she sold them this story because she didn't know who their father was, they decide to look for it and discover the truth about his past, and in the process they also get to know each other past tense mothers who didn't want her.

While traveling by car, among the candidates for the father, they also come across by JK Simmons (Rhythm of Madness, Juno, Up in the Air, Spider-Man, Read and Burn) and retired American football player Terry Bradshaw, who plays himself. By the way, Peter Reynolds is on his own because of this mother's lie devoted his professional life to colonoscopy. Oops!
