True Story is, after all, a true story based on the memoirs of New York Times journalist Michael Finkel, who is portrayed by Jonah Hill in the film. It is a psychological drama that focuses on his relationship with Christian Long, the most wanted criminal on the FBI's list, who evaded arrest for many years outside the United States, passing himself off as Michael Finkle.
True Story is the directorial debut Rupert Goold, who entrusted the main roles James Franco, Jonah Hill, Felicity Jones, Gretchen Mol, Betty Gilpin and John Sharianu. Franco, who is currently in trouble for the movie "The Interview", portrays Christian Long, an assassin who had been on the for many years FBI-'s most wanted list for murdering his wife and three children in Oregon, and who covered his tracks by using the identity of a disgraced a New York Times reporter Michael Finkel.
When Finkel learns that Longo is now closed to him stole the identity, he wants to trust him with his story. What follows is a carousel of manipulations, intrigues, which can also turn out to be the truth. Did Longo really kill?
