Valerij Rozov performed the first BASE jump from the highest African mountain, Kilimanjaro

Valerij Rozov became the first person to perform a BASE jump from the highest mountain in Africa and the highest solitary peak on Earth, Kilimanjaro, using a wingsuit. The 50-year-old Russian is no stranger to such daring feats, as he has already jumped from Mount Everest (from a height of 7,220 meters). This time the push-off site was at 5,460 meters from the top of the Western Breach wall, which is much lower, but this environment is still considered inhospitable for BASE jumpers.

Valery Rozov, otherwise experienced BASE jumper, took the historic first BASE jump from Kilimanjaro prepared for a year. One year later, he completed an adrenaline-fueled one-minute long free fall in which, dressed only in a wingsuit, he flew horizontally at a speed of over 180 km/h flew over 3 kilometers. During this time he also produced over 1500 altitudes, as he landed in the Barranco camp on "le" 3950 meters above sea level. We had a lump in our stomach watching this, how about you?
