Don't let your period spoil your fun at the beach or pool. Here are some tips to help you enjoy swimming with tampons safely and carefree.
1. You can wear tampons on the beach and in the water
If you are not used to using tampons, start using them a few months before going on vacation. Insert the tampon as deep as possible, otherwise you will feel it when you sit and walk.
2. You should not feel the tampon
Sit and move around a bit to make sure you can't feel the tampon. If it hurts and you can still feel the tampon, try pushing it deeper into your vagina. If you can't push it deeper, it might be because you're squeezing your vaginal muscles too much. In this case, do not press the tampon with force, especially if it hurts.
3. Choose a good swimsuit
During your period, it is best to wear darker swimwear. It is also a good idea to choose a swimsuit with a padded bottom or one that is made of a thicker material. Simply choose a swimsuit in which you feel comfortable and relaxed.
4. Check the position of the tampon string
The tampon string can peek out from under the swimsuit, so make sure this doesn't happen when you put it on. You can use scissors to shorten it a bit, but not too much that you won't have problems removing the tampon.
5. Don't wear daily pads
Many women also use daily pads as an additional protection along with tampons. However, daily pads are not necessary for bathing and swimming, as they will not help with absorption and may detach from the bathing suit and cause discomfort. Day pads are only worn if you came to the beach just to sunbathe or enjoy some other activity.
6. Wear shorts
If you want extra protection and are uncomfortable being on the beach in just a bathing suit, then jump into comfortable shorts after swimming.
7. Change your tampon more often
It is not necessary, but if it makes you feel safer and more relaxed, change the tampon approximately every two hours.
8. Choose the ones with applicators
If you are not used to tampons and find it uncomfortable to insert them, we recommend using tampons with an applicator. Such tampons are also more hygienic to use.
9. Choose the right size
If you don't know which size to choose, choose smaller size tampons at first. You should also be aware of how much you are bleeding.
10. Use wipes in addition to tampons
Moisturizers are something great in those days, because they allow us to remove all impurities and unpleasant odors, and of course, we also feel much better. Therefore, in addition to tampons, keep moisturizing intimate wipes in your bag.
