10 tips for solo travelers

Travel memories are usually full of "ufff!", "ahhh!", "yeah, but then..." and similar exclamations that describe pleasant feelings. Traveling is usually one of the more enjoyable and fun experiences in life, isn't it? Well, except when they're not! Sometimes we also hear unpleasant stories about lost luggage, expired passports, street robbery, illness, etc. What can be done to avoid the problems that loom, especially when traveling alone? Here are some tips.

1. Have courage!

The very thought of going on a long journey alone can be overwhelming scary. Who will we talk to, who will share our excitement (or fear), who will ask for directions for us, etc. Well, it doesn't have to be like that. Dare yourself, remove all the obstacles in your head, such as age, suitability and other reasons that are more like excuses, and go on your way.

2. Do your own research!

Travel guides can be a great help, but don't just stay with them. Take a turn from recommended routes, streets or cafes and find something that will only raise your heart rate, will only play on your strings. People have different tastes and make sure the adventure is perfect to your liking.

3. "He who spars his tongue, this..."

Okay, this saying doesn't quite go into context, but we want to say that it does don't avoid by talking to local residents. They have stories that interest you. Talk to a saleswoman, a waiter, a passer-by, ask them about this or that, because you never know what kind of story they might tell you. Such stories they stay.

4. Take care of the documents on time!

Different countries have different requirements, so be sure to check before you travel to make sure you don't need any entry visas etc. Waiting for a visa can take a while month and it can also cost some money, so don't delay because you risk ruining a trip that hasn't really even started yet.

5. Make copies!

Such advice may seem a bit 'meh', but take it seriously! Take a photo or scan all travel documents and send it to yourself and your loved ones by email in case you lose them. No one will remember all the numbers you will need in such a case.

6. Extra money!

Always keep them somewhere 200 euros or debit card 'for emergencies'. If you lose your wallet, they still come in handy. Remember, you are on your own journey and he has no friends, which I would lend you.

7. Google Translate

If you're traveling to places where language barriers are insurmountable and you can't communicate even with two sentences, download the app to your mobile phone Google Translate. Well, winging it with your hands is always an easy solution, but why risk it, to be misunderstood.

8. Study potential scams!

Every place has one "foro", for which it is known among travelers. Even the unpleasant one. Find out if there are any local travel agencies that can take you around, or a taxi service that will charge you triple the price.

9. Be relaxed!

Go with the flow, follow your inner compass and let it be your main guide. Pay attention, but not all the time on the spikes! Only when you are completely relaxed will you be able to enjoy all the beautiful things that the route has to offer. If you worry all the time, you will be in a spasm and then things can pass you by quickly.

10. Prevent unpleasant surprises at home!

Notify your bank and mobile operator that you are going abroad for an extended period of time. They will help you choose the most favorable packages or gave the best advice to you avoid any high bills when you return.

So, now the road underfoot!
