14 ways you can improve your life in self-isolation at least a little

Being isolated doesn't mean you can't work on yourself and improve your life.

Even small changes mean a lot in these times. With them, you can create new positive habits and change your routine. Sit back, relax, and read about how to incorporate them into your life.

Rearrange the space

Move things around. Dust off. Clean up the mess. Make a plan for how you will rearrange the space after the virus is gone.

Read on

Remember the times when you said that if I had time, I would read this and that? Now's your chance, read all those magazines you've bought and are waiting for you, piled up in the living room. All those unread books on the bookshelf. Explore the web to find articles and e-books on topics that interest you.

Write a wish list

Make a list of things you've always wanted to do and places you've wanted to visit; and you will when the isolation is over. Write, delete, make the best list that you can start implementing when the virus is gone.

Learn something new

Right now you have a little more free time than usual. Do you feel like the days are suddenly longer? Why not learn something new, maybe play guitar, draw, play tarot, dance samba? Do your research, you're bound to find something to fill your days.

Listen to the music

You explore, find a new genre of music, maybe find a song you heard a while ago that sticks in your mind. Record some new music to listen to when you go back to work. Dance, sing, let loose.

Put things away

Put away all those clothes at the bottom of your closet or those you haven't worn in months, if not years. The ones you've already forgotten you even have. Wash them. Perhaps you will find some among them that you will be happy to wear or prepare and give away later.

Clean out the closets with clothes, you might find the jeans you've been looking for for a long time.

Focus on your body

Otherwise, gyms and fitness centers are closed, but that doesn't mean you can't exercise at home. You have tons of workout videos on YouTube. Strengthen your abdominal muscles, arms, buttocks... there are no obstacles. You just need the will and time. Or, if you have the opportunity, go for a run or a walk in the forest.

Take care of your soul

Don't forget yourself. Stress and anxiety are rising, make sure you take time for yourself. Meditate or just close your eyes from time to time and take a deep breath. Relax. Everything will be okay. Believe in it.

Commit to daily goals

Set daily goals and stick to them. Small goals for big wins. Stay focused and don't avoid them in any way, let them be your pleasure. Maybe your goal will be to tell someone you love them or to teach an island how to tie shoelaces? Let them bring a smile to your face.

Enjoy preparing food

Create a menu, let all members of the family participate. Make your food different from what it was when you were at work. Experiment and enjoy discovering new flavors. Become a master chef. Oops!

Maybe treat yourself to American pancakes. Delicious!

Watch a movie, a cartoon

... mother, father, friends, crush.

Invest time in yourself

Now is the time to focus on yourself. Learn new things. Improve your knowledge, maybe of foreign languages.
