Be in the center of the most unusual, current and engaged happenings in October, when performances, exhibitions, concerts, films, discussions and parties will take place all over Ljubljana. This year, the City of Women invites you to the company of excellent female artists from all over the world, who will provoke and inspire under the common slogan "nacija_natura_norma" with a focus on the theme of reproductive freedom, the right to abortion, family forms and gender representation. The 23rd International Festival of Contemporary Arts - City of Women will conquer Ljubljana from October 6 to 14, 2017.
Festival City of women appeals with its international program a wide and diverse audience, which since years 1995 shocks and boldly invites active reflection in the field equality, solidarity and diversity.
This year's inspiring edition will also encourage social change. It will take place during the time we are celebrating 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, the beginning of which is closely related to the struggle for women's equality in society. We are once again faced with conservative and nationalist ideas which, among other things restrict rights and they refer to nature and tradition. By not agreeing to such concepts, the festival will be with the carefully selected superb artistic creations addressed an audience that wants to sharpen their vision and expand their horizons. He will encourage dialogue, new knowledge and lively discussion and tied it all together with a varied inter-festival get-together. On more than 14 locations, with over 20 events and over 10 days there will be something for everyone, even for younger audience.
