7 Psychological Powers Few Have (And Make You Different)

What is this special power?

There is nothing unusual or miraculous. We're talking about self-control. So how do you react in different circumstances to keep the balance between what you have to and what you want.

Be different from others, keep control of your thoughts in the ways below!

Don't expose yourself - be thoughtful!

"A know-it-all is a person who knows everything, except how annoying it is." – Demitri Martin
If you're a very intelligent person, there's nothing wrong with showing it to others, but usually people don't like intelligent people because it shows their incompetence. Let other people's attention make them feel important to themselves. Move in silence. People mostly don't want to know how intelligent someone is, they just want to know how the person can benefit them in life.

Resist groupthink - be you!

"Insanity is rare in individuals - but it is the rule in groups, parties, nations and historical periods." – Friedrich Nietzsche
Your identity is based on various events, stories, beliefs that you repeat throughout your life and become part of your personality. This is especially true if you are part of a group, as you have to adapt to their outlook on life. You must not have your own who deviate from her views. Good examples are religion and politics.
Look at events through the lens of your individuality. Regardless of which group you belong to, the experiences, memories and emotions you have are yours alone.

Stop worrying about what people think of you - live!

Want to know a great trick to stop worrying about what other people think of you? Read Stephen Hawking's universe book A Brief History of Time. "Our sun is just one of hundreds of thousands of millions of stars that make up our galaxy." Now think about your place in the universe. Why are you so worried about what will happen or what others will think? Are you going to let other people—infinitesimal bits of existence in the entire spectrum of the universe—stop you from living your life the way you want to live it?

Human beings are the only species arrogant enough to place themselves at the center of the universe.

Stop blaming - accept and forgive!

“If it's under your control, why are you doing it? If it's under someone else's control, then who do you blame? Atoms? Gods? Stupid. Don't blame anyone.” – Marcus Aurelius
Why is it so hard to accept the fact that you are responsible for every situation in your life? Because that would hurt your self-esteem; it's easier for you to shift the blame outside of yourself, onto someone else. But that doesn't make you feel any better, does it? Fear, anger, dissatisfaction are still inside you. Don't blame others. You have the ability to admit your shortcomings and take responsibility for the situation. Forgive yourself and others.

Don't wait to speak - listen.

“Most people do not listen with the intention of understanding; they listen with the intention of answering.” – Stephen Covey
If you let others speak, listen to them and let go of your need to jump in. People like to talk. Let them. While they are talking, listen. If you really listen, they will give you all the information you want to know - their hopes, fears, wants, needs - everything. Just sit back and listen.
You'll make them feel like you're a great conversationalist and someone they can trust, even if you can barely speak - just repeat what they said and ask them a question that will keep them talking.

Don't let your desires pull you in the wrong direction - be sensible!

"Those who have few desires are more peaceful, without worry or fear." – Buddha
Are you too ambitious? Competitive? Are you constantly comparing yourself to others? Whenever you do something you don't really want to do but do it anyway because you think it will help you get something you want—to be more successful than others—you're forgetting about yourself and your personal life. Don't let the desire for success cost you love and life. Remind yourself that you can be happy with what you have right this second.

Don't take it all so seriously - enjoy the day - now!

Stop taking everything so seriously. Focus on your career, but don't make your career your life. Spend carefree time with friends and family. Make mistakes. Forgive. Love.

Clutching the wheel of life gives you the illusion that you are in control of everything. You don't really have one. Believe it or not. You don't have! Just live. Live now because tomorrow may never come!
