Summer is just around the corner, and with it the time for vacations, lying on the beach and good books. The summer months are the time of the year when there are (still) a bit more opportunities to read, and for this purpose we have compiled a list of Slovenian reading that fascinates us these days.
The list includes a number of recent bestsellers, as well as some books that have either undergone new reprints or are more prominent in this period due to their subject matter or by the authors themselves. Let books be a pleasant company during this year's vacation.

His latest work At the Creation of the World is a story about a world that does not yet exist and is "destined" to come into being before our eyes. It is perhaps Jančar's most moving and personal novel, which enchants with the writer's unique style and draws us into the world of secrets of people and the world.

Slovenian sports legend Tone Vogrinec is a treasure trove of stories, and Marko Radmilovič managed to capture some of them in his writing, who put the rich treasure trove of Vogrinec's stories on paper. The great sports hero of the 1980s, who took Yugoslavian skiing to the very top, remembers many life stories with surgical precision, which he shares with the world in the book.

On the 70th anniversary of the birth of the famous Slovenian alpinist Nejc Zaplotnik, who was the first Yugoslav to climb to the top of Mount Everest, it is worth reading his legendary work - The Path - once again. "He who seeks a goal will remain empty when he reaches it, but he who finds a way will always carry the goal within himself," wrote the late alpinist legend in his autobiographical confession, which reveals a series of deep thoughts and reflections on life through the book.

The book is a story about parental steadfastness, about the firm will and strength that only sincere love, the kind that is established between a child and parents, can inspire in a person.
