Ever since the iconic release of hip-hop legend Run DMC's My Adidas in 1986, the adidas Superstar has been ubiquitous throughout pop culture. While this was once a somewhat more localized trend, today it's something of an international phenomenon and is used virtually everywhere - from sportswear to skater culture. In honor of the Queens rap group and the 50th anniversary of the Superstar line, adidas has released a special collection of retro-inspired commemorative sneakers.
The capsule collection includes two pairs of high-quality sneakers adidas Superstar 50s in white (Footwear White) and black (Core Black). On the former, you'll find red accents located on the sneaker's tongue, upper, and heel tab, along with Run DMC lettering. Among other things, adidas decided to honor the late Jam Master Jay by placing his portrait on the center of the tongue. Both sneaker models are equipped with an additional set of "thick" laces and exclusive custom packaging.
In addition to sneakers, clothing is also available - satin jackets, fleece sweaters, graphic tees and crewneck sweaters – which undoubtedly smell of the past and of the original Superstar line.
The collection will be available from November 14 on the official website and in selected online stores around the world.
