Converse also cares about the planet: The iconic shoes will now be made from waste materials

Converse is the next company to join the list of footwear manufacturers investing in sustainable development. In the future, he plans to make his sneakers out of plastic bottles and waste denim.

Converse has unveiled new production processes for its famous Chuck Taylor sneakers in the light of sustainable development efforts - it has encapsulated its ideas in the program Renew Initiative, which puts in the foreground materials, obtained through waste processing.

The Nike-owned brand introduced 3 methods, which she plans to use in the future in the production of sneakers - she named them Renew Canvas, Renew Denim and Renew Cotton.

The first is based on the use of 100% recycled polyester, which is obtained from discarded plastic bottles, while the other one uses junk jeans. The third, which relies on waste material generated during the production process, is considered the most revolutionary. The material that it consists of together with polyester 40 percent recycled cotton, won't be available until next year.
