Aston Martin is launching the DB11 in Geneva, a super coupe that sends the gray-bearded DB9 to a well-deserved retirement. It is the first GT, apart from Bond's DB10 model from the film Spectre, in more than a decade. Many things happened during this time, including Aston Martin getting a new president and marrying Mercedes, which, as expected, was reflected in the car. All these changes are embodied in many ways by the DB11, the first production Aston Martin with a double-digit number.
Aston Martin DB11 is the direct successor of the model DB9, the release of which has a long beard, since it dates back to the year 2003. Time gap, new president (Andy Palmer) of this boutique British supercar brand (he demanded that the DB11 be fitted with a classic manual gearbox) and cooperation with Mercedes or to the savage department AMG but somehow they bring a significant departure in terms of design and also technology.
The DB11 ditches boring lines and sticks to the style of a crossover study DBX, of Bond DB10 and jubilee CC110.

The novelty speaks in the 12-cylinder "language", as it was installed under the hood 5.2 liter twin turbo V12 engine, from which he squeezes round 600 hp (450 kW). Power is transmitted to the wheels by an 8-speed ZF gearbox, and its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.9 seconds. Top speed is exceptional thanks to a number of aerodynamic tricks, such as the "phantom" front spoiler 322 km/h.
The interior is despite conservation retro style represented by two-tone leather, digitized (12-inch infotainment screen). Many components were supplied by the department Mercedes-AMG. The Aston Martin DB11 is actually the first child of Aston Martin and the AMG division, and judging by what we've seen, we can only hope that they will have as large a family as possible.
