Aston Martin Vulcan – a racing car that erupts like a volcano

The Aston Martin Vulcan spews its power like volcanic lava.

Not Eyjafjallajökull, not Vesuvius, the most active volcano will be the new Aston Martin Vulcan. The racing car, which was named after the Roman god of fire, is so beastly that it would rather not be let out of the "cage", and it can only be driven on the racetrack. Yes, we are really not used to such extreme trips from Aston Martin, as they are more at home in prestigious sports cruisers, but they are also no strangers to supercars. But this one is the most brutal after the One-77 model, and the price is also brutal - 2.05 million euros.

Aston Martin Vulcan is a racing driver by profession, but created in commercial purposes. On the racetrack, it will wait for its owners, not professional drivers, like a dormant volcano, and when it wakes up the monster, the 7-liter atmospheric 12-cylinder with 800 horses. Otherwise, it is a two-seater, dressed in carbon monocoque shell (the work of the British's long-time partner, Multimatic), which is also adorned with an adaptive suspension, a magnesium torque tube that it inherited from competition models GTE, the 2.8-meter wheelbase it shares with the model One-77, improved roll cage, adaptive ABS braking system and traction control system.

It will be braked with high-performance ceramic ones Brembo disc brakes and a six-speed sequential gearbox Xtrack, and it will only get the chance to do so 24 lucky people or those who can afford it. They will first be able to train on vehicles such as the Aston Martin V12, Vantage S, Vantage GT4 and One-77 and receive instruction from an Aston Martin racer Darren Turner, also the winner of the famous one Le Mans.

It will be shown live for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, starting March 5, 2015.
