The Audi PB18 e-tron is an extremely interesting prototype that combines elements of a racing car, a car with a chopped rear and even a hint of a motorcycle. Among the Audi engineers, the car was nicknamed "Level Zero", because despite the abundance of modern technology, the driver is still the one who makes all the decisions.
In front of us Audi PB18 e-tron it resembles a sports coupe, you could even say it is a Audi R8 from the future. This opinion is emphasized by the great trapezoid mask and large air openings beside her. When we look at the Audi PB18 e-tron from the side, we quickly realize that it is actually a three-door car with cropped rear. The rear window slowly descends towards the rear, where it is stretched across the entire width LED light line.
For propulsion, the Audi PB18 e-tron is available three electric motors. The first drives the front axle and has 201 horsepower, and the other two each drive their rear wheels, and their combined power is 604 horsepower. During normal driving, the total power of all engines is 671 horsepower and 830 newton meters of torque, but we still have some available short term 'stock' of the power that is 764 horsepower. According to Audi's estimates, this is enough for the PB18 from 0 to 100 km/h accelerate into merely 2 seconds. The car is said to be powered by a futuristic battery with capacity 95 kilowatt hours, which would be enough energy for 500 kilometers driven. If you had a charging station with power 800 volts, the battery could be charged in just 15 minutes. It is also available inductively charging, and the system has been upgraded to increase efficiency regenerative braking, which brakes with electric motors most of the time, and uses traditional disc brakes only in cases where it is really necessary to stop quickly.
The interior is the one that reminded us a bit of a motorcycle. It is flexible and may be intended only to the driver, who is sitting in the middle car, or we make room for passenger, when the seat and steering wheel are moved to the left. Something similar to when we install an extra seat for a passenger on a motorcycle. The driver's view is directed through the windshield, which is enriched with augmented reality, such as the ideal driving line on a race track. The Audi PB18 e-tron has a surprisingly large luggage compartment in size 470 liters, which is almost as much as the Volkswagen Golf has available. The Audi PB18 e-tron is thus not just a lipstick, but truly exceptional attractive 'toy' for the big boys. At the moment, unfortunately, it is only concept, but it's only a matter of time before it will be similar technology began to appear in Audi cars.
