Imagine: a racing car that transforms into a road car. Born from the racing genetics of ABT Sportsline, the Audi R8 ABT XGT combines the world of racing and the road with the luxury of exclusivity. A limited edition of 99 pieces, each priced at 598,000 euros, this supercar is not only an engineering excess, but also a collector's rarity.
ABT XGT is an expression of racing heritage built on the basis of the Audi R8 LMS GT2. With a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 640 horsepower, the XGT reaches a speed of up to 310 km/h. Combined with the 7-speed S-tronic transmission and exclusively rear-wheel drive, it offers an unrivaled racing experience.
Visually true to its racing origins, the XGT combines a mighty roof scoop and gigantic rear wings. The interior retains the racing spirit with a full roll cage and custom racing dashboard, yet includes features such as a handbrake and reversing camera for everyday utility.
The interior is also racing, with a full roll cage and racing dashboard. Despite the fact that the vehicle is intended for road use, they retained elements such as the handbrake, central locking, reverse camera and immobilizer. The developers made sure that the XGT, despite its racing origins, is adapted and comfortable for everyday driving.
The development of the ABT XGT was a two-year undertaking that reflects ABT Sportsline's heritage in motorsport, particularly DTM racing. The car has been thoroughly tested on tracks such as the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Sachsenring and Hockenheimring by professional drivers to fine-tune its road behaviour, handling and acceleration. This painstaking process ensures that the XGT offers an uncompromised racing feel while being suitable for everyday driving.
The Audi R8 ABT XGT is more than a supercar; is a triumph of engineering that combines the raw power of a racing car with the elegance and practicality of a road vehicle. With a limited production run and outstanding technical specifications, the XGT is not just a car – it is a legend on four wheels, satisfying both adrenaline junkies and discerning collectors. With this model, Audi once again reinforces its reputation as a pioneer in the production of vehicles that go beyond the limits of the ordinary.
The Audi R8 ABT XGT thus represents the pinnacle in the evolution of super sports cars, as it combines the thrill of racing with the practicality of a road car. Developed by ABT Sportsline in collaboration with Scherer Sport, this remarkable vehicle is essentially a road-legal version of the R8 LMS GT2 racing car. It is a limited series as only 99 units were produced, each priced from €599,200 (approx. 653,000 $).
