The association of rock with electronica is not new. This has been practiced by many bands in all musical periods since the 1950s. Electro rock is a genre that began by combining digital technologies in recording and creating new sounds. The first experiments began with the creation of the first analog synthesizers in the 1950s. The Beatles and Jimi Hedrix, for example, looped guitar recordings backwards to produce distinctive psychedelic sounds. Then came the Moog synthesizer. Many bands used synthesizers in the 70s. For example Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk.

After that, rock and electronica started to separate. In the 80s, many bands were still experimenting with electronics. Even the genre of synth pop and synth rock developed, where synthesizers dominated, but guitars and other instruments played an important role. Such bands are, for example, Depeche Mode, Devo, Visage, The Human League, etc.

In the 90s, however, electronica had already developed into an independent genre. House, techno, drum'n'bass, electro and others came. These genres almost completely abandoned classical instruments, if anything, they only used them as a basis for processing sounds. In house music, there was a lot of experimentation with more funky and jazzy organic music.

In electro, at the beginning of this century, the return of harder organic music to electronica and the increasing influence of alternative electronica in modern indie and rock bands could be sensed for the first time. Develop
indie dance, electro clash, new rave started... Such bands were, for example, Ladytron, Peaches, Chicks on speed, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In the second wave, Justice, MGMT... The matter has developed to such an extent that we can once again talk about electro rock, which is also represented by Audiorama.

Just to name a few bands: The Klaxons, Soulwax, Empire of The Sun, Lovers Electric, The Presets, PNAU, Cut Copy, Ima Robot, MSTRKRFT, MGMT, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ladyhawk, Phoenix, The Sounds, The Wombats, Kaiser Chiefs , French Horn Rebellion.
