The best electric cars of 2017

Electric mobility is becoming more important every day. The infrastructure is also growing accordingly, as practically not a day goes by that a new charging station is not opened somewhere, making electric transportation even easier. Since the choice of electric cars on the market is becoming more diverse every day, we will present you some of the hottest examples at the moment.

This time there will be no noise, as the candidates are silent and the most ecological of all.

Renault Zoe

Renault Zoe is considered to be the most mass-adapted electric car and is among others best sellers electric car in Europe. Renault Zoe it has a powerful battery with capacity 41 kWh and has a higher energy density, and the efficient electric motor that has 85 kW (88 hp) powers. According to the European NEDC certificate, Zoe should be able to drive without intermediate charging 400 kilometers in real traffic, which should be taken with a bit of a margin. But also 300 kilometers, as its real range should be, is enough that the electric range will no longer be a psychological barrier. There is also an advanced charging system that enables maximum power charging speed 43 kWh. A half-hour connection at a public charging station is thus sufficient for further ones 80 kilometers driving. Due to the thermal control of the battery, it has a longer life and consumes energy more efficiently. For the Renault Zoe model, you have to pay around 32,000 euros.

Hyundai Ioniq

The Hyundai Ioniq offers three different sets of engines, but this time we will focus only on the electric or EV-versions. The power of the electric motor is 88 kW (120 KM) and uses a single-speed automatic transmission. Its lithium-ion battery packs a punch 28 kWh and provides for to 280 kilometers of autonomy per charge. The maximum speed is 165 km/h, and from 0 to 100 km/h it accelerates in 4,5 seconds. Since the batteries are placed low in the car, they contribute significantly to the low center of gravity, which in turn means that the ride is also comfortable and very stable. Stylistically, the Ioniq is similar Toyota Prius, and in contrast to it the Ioniq EV it is not a hybrid, but completely electric car. Hyundai Inoiq EV is available from 35,000 euros further.

Tesla Model S

Thanks to the new battery, it has Tesla Model S 100D now the largest electric range of any car on the market. Battery with capacity 100 kWh is able to transport the car to the charging point 539 kilometers away, which is 11 to 14 percent more than the model can handle 90D. With the new battery, it also has a longer range Model X, which will now be able to take us on a charge 474 kilometers far away. This more powerful version of Tesla has available the so-called Ludicrous Mode, with which the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in everything 2.6 seconds. With these numbers, we are of course already talking about the acceleration of super sports cars. Among all affordable electric cars, Tesla certainly represents the most prestigious and currently the most advanced form of electric car. The base price of the model is set at 90,000 euros.

BMW i3

BMW's they are, of course, the answer to electric mobility i8 and i3, where the latter is much more accessible to the masses than its larger and supersport brother. BMW i3 represents the right vehicle for inclined city centers. According to the NEDC standard, it can do up to 300 kilometers, but in practice this distance is closer 200 kilometers. There is a version with a petrol range extender, so you never run out of power. The car is made from a large percentage of recycled materials, which further increases its ecological impression. From 0 to 100 km/h it accelerates in 7,3 seconds. i3 is available from 38.550 euros further.

Kia Soul EV

The electric Soul drives 81 kW an electric motor that draws energy from 27 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Like all electric cars, the Soul emits absolutely no harmful emissions while driving. The gearbox is a continuously variable CVT, which is also logical, since the operation of an electric motor is quite different from that of an internal combustion engine. The top speed reached by the Soul EV is 145 km/h. The maximum range provided by Soul is 212 kilometers, and with fast charging, the battery takes about half an hour to charge 80 % filling. The Kia Soul is priced from 29,900 euros further.

Volkswagen e-Golf

The main advantage of the e-Golf is the increased range for 50 percent relative to the predecessor. The lithium-ion battery has capacity 35,8 kilowatt hours, which translates to a range that is around 200 kilometers. Engine power is 98 kW (134 HP), which enables it to accelerate up to 100 km/h 9,6 seconds. Top speed is 150 km/h. With fast chargers, the battery will be charged up to 80 % in good time. The e-Golf is otherwise indistinguishable from the internal combustion engine versions and, apart from these few electrical quirks, it is still a real people's car. The e-Golf is available from 39.899 euros further.
