Bill Gates has been busy with the coronavirus pandemic for the past few months, as he is one of those people who are actively working to find a cure for Covid-19. But that doesn't stop him from spending some of his free time reading. And these are the books he recommends to us. He even says that it is "the best book he has read in recent years"!
As in previous years, Bill Gates recommends 5 books to read during the summer!
The Choice
dr. Edith Eva Eger
This book is part memoir and part trauma recovery guide. Eger was only 16 years old when she and her family were sent to Auschwitz. After surviving incredible horrors, she moved to the US and became a therapist. Her unique background gives her incredible insight, so I'm sure many people will find comfort in her suggestions on how to get out of difficult situations.

David Mitchell
It's the kind of novel you'll be thinking about and talking about long after you've finished it. The story is a little more difficult to explain, as it involves six interconnected stories that take place several centuries apart. But if you're in the mood for a truly compelling story about the best and worst that lies within us humans, you're sure to love it.
The Ride of a Lifetime
Bob Games
Bill Gates says this is one of the best business books he's read in years. Indeed, Iger does an outstanding job of explaining what it really means to be the CEO of a large company (he himself ran Disney). Whether you're looking for business insight or just a fun read, you'll enjoy his stories from a time when Disney was undergoing one of the biggest transformations in history.
BUY: €16.69The Great Influenza
John M. Barry
We are currently living in an unprecedented time. But if you're looking for a historical comparison, according to Gates, you'll find it in a book about the 1918 flu pandemic. Barry will teach you just about everything you need to know about one of the deadliest outbreaks of infectious disease in human history. Although 1918 was something completely different than 2020, the book is still a good reminder that we still face many of the same challenges as we did back then.
BUY: €15.69Good Economics for Hard Times
Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo
Banerjee and Duflo won the Nobel Prize in Economics last year and belong to the very top of the economists currently working in the world. Fortunately, they are also very good at making economics accessible to the average person. Their latest book addresses inequality and political divisions by focusing on political debates centered in wealthy countries such as the United States.
