Bultaco Brinco – an electric mountain bike that surpasses the 'crosses'

Electric mountain bike Bultaco Brinco

Electric bikes are growing like mushrooms after the rain and we have a feeling that there is something on the market for every pocket and taste. But that won't quite hold. While compact and city electric bikes are plentiful, you will be hard pressed to find an electric mountain bike. Which is nothing tragic, because there is Bultaco Brinco, a superb electric mountain bike, which will make you not feel the need to have a wide choice. The bike of the comeback brand on the scene is a hybrid between a bicycle and a motocross bike.

Electric mountain bike Bultaco Brinca is theoretically still Mountain bike, full suspension (uses USD forks and disc brakes), to be precise, although it boasts with a 2000 watt electric motor, which can propel the bike to surprising speeds. It's Brinco the motorized reincarnation of what used to be a 74cc two-stroke motorcycle, with which the Spanish Bultaco returned to the scene and applied the knowledge of motorcycling to a bike that is a hybrid between trail bicycles and motorcycles.

Motocross bike or mountain bike, that is the question.
Motocross bike or mountain bike, that is the question.

That being said, it boasts a two-kilowatt motor that drives the rear wheel, and draws energy from 1.3 kilowatt lithium-ion batteries, which clings to the lower tube of the aluminum frame. V eco way ride that releases 800 watts transports you 100 kilometers away, tour mode, which consumes 1500 watts (you can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h), and 75 km. In sports mode, all 2000 watts are released (full torque), and the battery is discharged after 50 km (fully an empty battery is charged in just two hours). You can drive the Brinc without pedaling up to 60 km/h, which is more than over the top for the terrains it is intended for. When you use your own power, you can help yourself with nine gears and system overdrive (this practically doubles the number of gears), while you control the engine with a handle, which is like the ones used on motorbikes.

It stands on 24-inch wheels and weighs with the battery 39 kilograms. The central control unit supplies you with data on speed, engine temperature, distance traveled and battery status. You can add SIM card and turn on geolocation tracking. You can also activate the anti-theft system. Unfortunately, it is not cheap, as it has to be deducted 4800 euros.
