On Friday, the festive lights were switched on in the capital and also at the Ljubljana Castle, and the events of the Castle in December 2018 began. They have prepared quite a few events that will conjure up a festive atmosphere: from concerts in the Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club, dancing, the castle's holiday fair and performances for children until Christmas Holy Mass, nativity scene, exhibitions, 3D mapping...

HOLIDAY EVENTS
- Castle holiday fair; in the labyrinth of festively decorated more than a hundred spruce trees in the Castle courtyard, you can find a selection of food and drinks from the castle caterers and a festive line of products from the Castle shop.
Castle courtyard: 30 November 2018–6. 1. 2019 between 11:00 and 20:00 - Nativity scene: life-size wooden sculptures by Miro Rismond in the Spodnji lapidarium and the glass nativity scene of the Rogaška Glassworks in the Castle Chapel; 30/11/2018-6. 1. 2019
- Christmas Holy Mass, which will be led by Msgr. Franci Trstenjak, will enliven the Christmas songs of the Megaron Chamber Choir. Castle Chapel, 24/12/2018 at 22:00
- Rise the Dragon, Architectural Projection/3D Mapping: in the light of the festive decoration of the castle courtyard, at the end of the Year of the Dragon at the Ljubljana Castle, on the facade of the Stanovska dvorana, a very special story about the dragon, the guardian of Ljubljana, who fought with the knight Juri and disappeared into the underworld, will come to life. Castle courtyard, 21 December 2018–2. 1. 2019, between 5 and 8 p.m., every 15 minutes.
MUSIC AND DANCE EVENTS
- The sixth season of dance evenings at Ljubljana Castle will conclude on December 21 with Festive dance.
- Jazz Club Ljubljana Castle will open its doors four times in December; every weekend. The following will perform: Andraž Hribar (12/8), Get On Board project (12/14), Wakili band with traditional West African music (12/22) and Tadej Toš & The Band (12/29).
FOR THE KIDS
- In a holiday performance The knight, the dragon and the holiday dress the noble knight Jurij and the wise dragon Franci will have to solve the riddle of where all the festive atmosphere has disappeared. If you think they will succeed, children from the age of 3 are invited to the Castle Theatre. Performances will take place on Saturdays (December 8, 15 and 22) and Sundays (December 9, 16 and 23), each time at 3 p.m.
EXHIBITION
- In cooperation with Unicef Slovenia, they prepared during the festive December charity exhibition of UNICEF rag dolls. The rag dolls will be available in the Pentagonal Tower between December 5 and 30, 2018.
