Last year we faced (and still face) global problems and met quite a few controversial political figures whose stories were captured by filmmakers in documentaries. The 21st Documentary Film Festival 2019 will hold up a mirror to society, namely the competition program on the topic of human rights will focus on the acute problems of the modern world, which are often pushed aside by the media and society. In addition to films with a strong message, the creators and organizers of the festival also prepared workshops, seminars, lectures, talks and programs for young people and children.
The first spring months will not only be warm, but also "loud" - the 20th month-long international club festival Orto Fest, which is unique in our area, awaits us. Lovers of good music, mainly colored in rock colors of all shades, will enjoy the one-month music program of 23 domestic and 12 foreign music groups. Despite the fact that there will be many creators, this year's Orto Fest will be colorful in terms of genre.
The media world has changed a lot – the passive follower 'from the street' has turned into an active content creator who has become, so to speak, a competition to traditional media. And how much space can we devote to it? How loud can he speak? How do its contents affect public opinion? You will get answers to your questions at the 28th Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF), which will draw the line between social and traditional media in the context of lectures by Slovenian and foreign speakers. The best advertising works will also be awarded, and the participants will exchange knowledge and experience and meet colleagues from the advertising world for the first time or again.
Lovers of running and charity, on the first Sunday of April, you will fight with all your might to run the strenuous hill up to the castle and collect as much money as possible for sick children in the Pediatric Clinic in Ljubljana. Every year, the Hop na grad (2019) run attracts more than 700 runners, who in previous years have collected funds to purchase various devices. This year, the money collected from the entry fees and charity contributions will help buy a device to monitor the cardiorespiratory function of babies who have breathing problems and lose consciousness. Applications are open.

They will present delicious products that you can taste, you will also co-create and learn why opposites like chocolate and chili attract each other.
The UNESCO organization declared March 21 as the World Poetry Day (2019), which will also be held this year under the sign of literary events. Lovers of poetry, you will face a severe test, namely you will pay homage to it by reading for 24 hours without stopping. All that matters is that you come and help make this silly but slightly romantic idea a reality. The event will take place in three locations, and it will also be broadcast live, so you won't be able to avoid it in any way.
