Most of us cringe when we hear the word pain. Let's remember the day when we were seven years old and broke our arm, or the moment of inattention that just yesterday caused us to fry ourselves again while cooking dinner. At that moment, anyone would swear that they know everything about pain. But as soon as the first wave of pain subsides, it leaves room for questions. What is pain anyway? Why do I hurt? How do I stop it?
