19th Slovenian Film Festival 2016 (FSF)/Portoroz: full sail ahead

Every year, the Slovenian Film Festival (FSF) presents the production of full-length and short feature films, documentaries and animated films that were made in Slovenia in the previous year. At the festival, the Metoda Badjure Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded, which is the most prestigious award in the field of filmmaking in Slovenia, and the Vesna Award is awarded for the most prominent achievements of filmmakers in the previous year. This year's recipient of the Metoda Badjure award for lifetime achievement in the field of filmmaking is scenographer Dušan Milavec.

European Mobility Week 2016

This year, between September 16 and 22, 2016, the European Mobility Week will take place again. The event will take place simultaneously in many European cities with the aim of spreading the importance of sustainable mobility among the general public. This year's slogan is "Smart mobility for economic success". As many as 63 municipalities in Slovenia will participate in the project. In addition to various activities on the topic of sustainable mobility, the city has a special "Car Free Day", when municipalities will close their city centers to motor vehicles.

Theater premiere: Don Pasquale in SNG Maribor

On September 30, 2016, the opera Don Pasqueale will premiere at SNG Maribor. The comic opera about love affairs and marital problems was written by Gaetano Donizetti at the beginning of the 19th century. The opera was directed by Dora Ruždjak Podolski, the orchestra will be conducted by Gianluca Martinenghi, and Giuseppe Esposito and Jaki Jurgec will perform in the lead roles. Brezmadežna / Immaculata, SNG Maribor: homage to Tomaž Pandur

The new season of Maribor Drama will be opened by a performance based on Colm Tóibín's novel Mary's Testament (2012), designed by Livija Pandur and her colleagues according to Tomaž's theatrical vision.
