The Kia Niro EV Concept was unveiled at CES 2018, just before the start of the Detroit Auto Show. The car introduces new technology and indicates guidelines that will influence new Kia models in the future.
Design-wise, you can see that you are Kia Niro and Kia Niro EV Concept they share a significant amount of DNA. The exterior design helps both to be as aerodynamic as possible and, consequently, as efficient as possible. The Niro EV Concept has ditched the traditional front grille and uses it instead interactive screen, which is not there just to look better. As Kia envisions the Nira EV in an urban environment, the display is part of an interactive lighting system that is a means of visual communication between drivers and pedestrians. A pedestrian monitoring system is also adapted to this, which monitors what is happening around the car via cameras. It may happen that someone simply overhears the silent operation of the electric motor. In this case, the Niro EV will alert you with a light or sound signal.
Like most modern concept cars, the Niro EV Concept has it all minimalistic design, which uses neutral colors that create a sense of spaciousness and calm a person. Kia mentions that the interior of the Nira EV will be equipped with new technologies to ensure a good interaction between the car and the car user. The Niro EV will have lithium polymer battery with capacity 64 kWh and an electric motor with power 150 kW. With a full battery, the Niro EV will drive up to 383 kilometers a long way.
Kia still has big plans in the field of technology. In the field of electric propulsion, they intend until 2025 present what 16 cars, which will have one or another electric drive. 5 common hybrids, 5 plug-in hybrids, 5 fully electric cars and 1 on fuel cells. In the field of other smart technology, Kia will perfect the systems for autonomous driving, better connectivity and, with the help of electric drives, contributed to a smaller ecological impression.
