Children's outdoor games that we played as children

Nowadays, children prefer playing computer games, exploring apps and sitting in front of televisions rather than social children's games and outdoor children's games. Mothers no longer count them because they would be outdoors all day, but they take them out of dark rooms into nature and into the light. In order not to forget them, we remembered the games we played as children.

Finally, spring, sunshine, good mood and children's outdoor games are here. Time to get our little novices out of front of the TV and into the street or nature and teach them something fun children's games, which we played as children. To refresh your memory, we've found some of the most popular outdoor games for kids that don't require much. All you need is some space, some simple props and a lot of good will.

Children's outdoor games: Steal the earth

Children draw a circle on the floor and divide it into equal parts. Each of the players names his part of the circle (land) and stands on it. The game starts with a player who is assigned a stick by the others. By shouting the name of any territory and throwing a stick at it. Everyone except the player of the called country runs out of the circle, and the called player picks up the stick, shouts "stop" and tries to hit one of the players with the stick. A successful hit can steal a piece of his land. He does this by drawing as far into his territory with chalk as his hands will allow, but he must stay in his territory with his feet. If he fails to hit the one he was aiming for with the stick, their roles are reversed. The winner is the one who conquers the most foreign land.

Outdoor children's games: Ristanc

We need chalk and pebbles to play ristanco. Draw squares on the floor with chalk (two single, one double, one single, one double, and finally one in the shape of a semicircle) and number them from one to seven. Aim at the first square with a pebble, stand on one leg and jump on the numbered squares. On the double jumps, we turn around on the last one, jump back to the beginning, pick up the pebble and finish the game. We continue by trying to hit the next square with the pebble. If we fail to do so or if we land on one of the single squares with both feet, the game continues with the second player. The winner is the one who hits all the squares first and successfully collects a pebble from them.

Children's outdoor games: Hide and seek

One child is designated as the seeker, the others as hiders. The seeker counts to the agreed number with his eyes closed, while the others hide in imaginative hiding places. When the finder finishes counting, he begins to find the hidden children. He pats you with the shout "one, two, three - Peter", if he found Peter, of course. Peter can also overtake the searcher (he pats himself) and punish him, because in this case he can repeat this count. If the seeker pats all the hiders, he wins, and the role of seeker is handed over to the first person who patted him.

Ravbars and gendarmes

Ravbarji and gendarmes is a hunting game in which two of the players are called gendarmes. The gendarmes have to wait for the ravbars to hide, and then start looking for them. The caught rapists are locked up in prison, but they can get out of prison by hitting one of their fellow sufferers on the hand. The game is over when the gendarmes lock up all the bandits.

Children's outdoor games: Gumitvist

To play gumtwist, we need a longer elastic band, the ends of which we tie together to form a gumtwist. The players step on the inside of the gumtwist, tighten the elastic around the ankles and start playing lemons, triangle, checkers, Ljubljana, regular, etc. Gumtwist games (as well as their difficulty levels) are extremely numerous. The songs created during the game are also fun.
