An excellent musician with a recognizable voice and musical style, Chris Rea, is coming to Ljubljana. The Englishman with a raspy voice began his musical career at the end of the seventies. In his career spanning more than three decades, he sold over thirty million records. His musical debut, Whatever Happened to Benny Santini?, served up his hit song Fool (If You Think It's Over). Only this one occupied high places on the American charts. Later, he made quite a few hits that got under our skin. On The Beach, Let's Dance, Josephine, Stainsby, Girl in I Can Hear Your Heartbeat, The Road to Hell and many others accompanied us in our everyday life. Last year he released a greatest hits album called Come So Far, Yet Still So Far To Go. On it, hits are collected in a new guise, which they got with the help of new sound mastering. The album also contains the covers of all LP albums and a selection of Chris's pictures. Chris experienced a real turning point in his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The battle with cancer and the nine operations he underwent completely changed him. He realized that success in life is not measured by the amount of money and that his biggest idols were never rock stars. He also ventured into charitable waters. He gave the proceeds of the song Driving Home For Christmas to charity to improve the living conditions of the homeless. He went on a European tour in January and will also stop here. He goes on tours exclusively for fun and not for profit, as he believes that touring is the primary activity of every musician. He enjoys only these and it is simply felt at his concerts.
