The Chrysler brand will present its first battery electric car in 2025, and in 2028, it plans to completely abandon classic internal combustion engines. The Chrysler Airflow concept is a glimpse into the brand's electric future and third-level autonomous systems.
The concept Chrysler Airflow is based on a robust platform that will be shared by the cars of the Stellantis group. In all likelihood, the Airflow will receive a medium-sized platform that will allow from 563 to 643 kilometers range on a single charge. The Airflow will have four-wheel drive, thanks to two drive modules, with power 150 kW (204 HP), and each module combines a motor, a transmission and an inverter. According to hints, Airflow should be around 400 system horsepower, and the platform will be powerful enough to accept even more powerful drive modules.
The production Airflow will have a bunch of modern assistance systems at its disposal, and its greater focus will be on connectivity. The hardware part of the equipment will be coordinated with the software part, which will enable wireless upgrading of individual systems. A camera will be available, through which passengers or the driver can communicate with other Internet users or take part in a video conference. In partnership with the BMW brand, Chrysler will develop autonomous systems the third degrees, which in some cases will be able to completely replace the driver.
The design lends itself to a silent electric drive, which can be said to represent a graceful and aerodynamic crossover between a sedan and an SUV. The long wheelbase increases the space inside, 22-inch and the rims provide a modern look to the concept. The front part is embellished with the Chrysler emblem, which merges with the headlights and shines in sky blue. The interior is dominated by white, which, in combination with the skylight, reduces the feeling of being cramped. The seats are comfortable, similar to an armchair, which further adds to the feeling that we are sitting in a living room and not in a car.
