At Dior, the exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, which we could see between 2017 and 2018 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and last year at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, has now been brought online. The exhibition traces the evolution of Christian Dior, from post-war Paris to the present day.
The evolution of the French fashion house includes Dior's "new look" era of elegance and celebrates iconic creative directors over the years. At Dior, they documented the design exhibitions, and they also organized virtual tour with a documentary on his YouTube channel and prepared a series of archive footage on Instagram. They can follow Florence Müller, the curator of the exhibition, as she goes through the Dior archives, presents in detail the history of the fashion house and reveals some of the most iconic moments in fashion.
"The 'bar' dress is iconic, not just for Dior, but for the history of haute couture," says Müller. "In fashion, such important turning points, revolutions, rarely come with a single collection," he adds.
