DJI Mavic Air 2: Is it simply the best drone out there?

DJI already hit the mark with the first generation of the Dji Mavic Air drone, as it made the most versatile drone that even professionals were happy to use. But the second generation takes everything a step higher and creates a drone that leaves nothing to be desired by video creators. Let's see how good the DJI Mavic Air 2 is.

DJI Mavic Air 2 will still stand under 1000 euros, which was the goal of the manufacturer, and it went on sale only a few days ago. Of course it is DJI Mavic Air better than its predecessor in almost every way. It can fly for a long time, has better reach and has better video equipment. However, there is a bit on the other side bigger and heavier, which can be a problem with legislation.

Let's go to his first video equipment or video capabilities. It has larger sensor, which means it can capture photos with 48 MP, while also having the ability to record video in 4K / 60fps – previously 30fps, which allows a little more "smooth” clips. But it's just not like that radically better. At DJI, they worked a lot on the digital processing of the captured image, so the results are much better than the predecessor. So you can record slow motion at the resolution 1080p with what 240 fps, the video also manages to capture s 120 Mbps. So, all in all, better than its predecessor.

The drone can fly for a long time because the manufacturer promises as much as 34 minutes of flight time, under ideal circumstances of course. This time it will be realistic about 25 minutes, which means a bold improvement with its predecessor, which was in the air somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. Of course he does DJI Mavic Air 2 improved sensors and autonomous flight, as well as technical range - that is, the distance at which you can fly with it. The manufacturer promises a flight of up to 10 kilometers, we have little doubt. However, we believe that the range is several times better than the predecessor, which is of course sufficient, since this was the biggest problem of the predecessor, which often had problems with the signal when moving away from the pilot for more than 500 meters. The new version is several times better because it works with the new OccuSync 2.0 system, instead of using Wi-Fi to control the drone wirelessly. And perhaps it is precisely this feature of the new model that "upgrade” pays off, and is recommended.

Oh... it flies can go as fast as 64 km/h per hour, which is good information if you will be using it to record moving objects, such as cars. The previous generation failed to keep up with the car because it was simply a bit slow.

S 570g became a drone legally questionable, because exceeds the weight of half a kilogram, which in many countries represented the limit below which drones could be used it is not necessary to have a license to fly, if it is your "hobby". This is one of the main things that can confuse a lot of prospective buyers. If you are a first generation owner DJI Mavic Air, maybe the "upgrade" is just not so necessary.
