The successor to the legendary frog loved by Charles de Gaulle is the huge and beautiful limousine DS9, in which French President Emmanuel Macron will also ride. Will she be able to shake the throne of the German holy trinity?
The French for half a century they are trying to threaten the "German holy trinity", which unequivocally occupies a place in the segment of premium sedans. They are completely unsuccessful in their conduct. The new French candidate for the king of the class, DS9, it offers three aggregates and two equipment packages as well as an interesting unique design and French charm.
Although they are SUV-are currently the most popular category of cars, sedans are still reserved for the premium class of the leading models in the production range by most brands. This can easily be said for the entire German trio, as well as for one of the youngest brands on the market, the French DS. After the DS3 and DS7, their most expensive model, the DS9 sedan, is now slowly coming to the market.
So far, it is known that there will be no diesel engines under the hood, only gasoline engines and plug-in hybrids. The most powerful of them will give the driver as much as 265 kilowatts or 360 'horses' of system power, the same powertrain can be found in Peugeot 508 – Peugeot Sport Engineered, which otherwise 'borrowed' the platform or vice versa.
The first vehicles will be ready by September 2021, and buyers will be able to choose between two equipment packages, Performance Line and Rivoli (and interior equipment with the label Opera, which brings, among other things, a recognizable pattern of the seat cover). Three powertrains will be available: gasoline and hybrid (both will have a driver of 165 kilowatts/225 horsepower of gasoline or system power) and plug-in hybrids. It will also offer all-wheel drive.
And the prices? For the cheapest DS9 with Performance Line equipment and a gasoline engine, it will be necessary to deduct just 47.700 euros.
Although the French can already order a new one DS9, we do not yet have information for Slovenia. But there is no doubt that we will see this challenger for the throne on Slovenian roads as well. DS it is a very special brand and we must pay attention to it in the future.
