DuoSkin: smart tattoos that control mobile devices

Did you know that a tat can be more than just a fashion accessory? More than just a fashion statement? The media laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, together with engineers from Microsoft Research, produced temporary gold-silver tattoos that can be used to control mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Smart tattoos DuoSkin in contrast to classic tattoos, they are not made of ink, but of electrically conductive ones gold leaves (these are also found in alcoholic beverages, on desserts, and are traditionally used for picture frames). Although the development of these interactive tattoos metallic look is still in its infancy, but DuoSkin technology already enables data exchange via contactless NFC technology and turns the skin into sliding plate.

In the future, such tattoos are also expected changed color, mistletoe LED lighting, reacted to temperature and emotions etc. You are not limited in terms of the motif, and the application to the skin is the same as for others temporary tattoos.
