After four years that have passed since Halloween, Katalena, one of the most important Slovenian bands from that borderland between popular and folk music, between traditional and urban, returns with a new album entitled Enci benci Katalenci. The record is basically intended for children, as it takes counting numbers as its starting point. After a successful recorded album, Katalena is devoting herself to the musical and stage project Enci benci Katalenci in these spring days, which is created under the direction of Ivana Djilas and whose premiere will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 5 p.m., in the Lihart hall of Cankarjev dom.
Enci benci Catalans is in the first row Catalenin sixth album. The textual basis of Katalena's current musical searches is represented by the collection Enci benci na kamenci, where they are counting sheets, collected in this popular book, is only a basis that receives concrete changes, upgrades, correspondences and combinations, both musically and lyrically, it is therefore a distinctly author's project. And why the countdown? Izztevanka is a distinctly rhythmic, often empty in meaning, but at the same time musically inspiring song, the main meaning of which is the distribution of roles for the beginning of the game. Of course, the counting game is a game in itself: a game of chance that essentially determines the future. Adult games generally differ from children's games in that they are goal-oriented and require a winner. Children's play is often freed from this, and that's it liberation pursues Katalen in his new project. Through the music that we can listen to on the album, we all (again) become and remain children.

They are the producers of the album Blaž Celarec and Marko Turel, he took care of the mastering Krešimir Tomec, and for design this time as well Ivian Kan Mujezinovic.
The Enci benci Katalenci album will be released The end of april and will be presented in its entirety for the first time May 30 at the Šiška Cinema at the Druga godba festival.
