It's the European Car of the Year 2024. France's Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric was named the Car of the Year 2024 at a ceremony held at the Geneva International Motor Show. This model, which received a total of 329 votes from a jury of 58 journalists from 22 countries, was chosen as the best of the seven finalists. This is the seventh time that Renault has won the prestigious Car of the Year award, which celebrates its 61st edition this year.
With this, the Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric became the seventh Renault car to receive the prestigious title of "European Car of the Year 2024". It follows Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Clio (1991), Scenic (1997), Megane (2003) and Clio (2006).

The BMW 5 Series was a close follower in second place with 308 votes, followed by the Peugeot 3008 in third place with 197 votes. Finalists also included the Kia EV9, Volvo EX30, BYD Seal and Toyota C-HR, with four of the seven finalists being all-electric, including the winner.
The Car of the Year award took place again this year at the Geneva Motor Show, after it was organized last year at the Brussels International Motor Show. The Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric stood out for its innovations, especially its exceptional autonomy, spaciousness and low environmental footprint, which, according to Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault, is proof that their decisions are correct. The Scenic E-Tech Electric, which is developed on the AmpR medium (formerly CMF-EV) platform, offers up to 625 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, which makes it also suitable for long journeys.
