Facebook is testing a 'Dislike' button, the result of a huge demand for the thumbs down, as the previous emoticons clearly didn't satisfy everyone. Facebook is testing the "dislike" reaction within the Messenger app.
It's a year and a half ago Facebook announced emotional symbols as a new way of expressing opinions/emotions, thus at least partially satisfying those who wanted a button dislikes or I do not like. That doesn't mean Facebook will get the thumbs down, though. It is currently being tested within the app Messenger. They are mainly testing the usability in the case of voting, and with this move they are trying to find a new way to do Messenger even more interesting and useful. It's just a test. The emotional symbols were otherwise well received. To date, there have been over 300 million such reactions, and the most popular of them is "love”.
