European Car of the Year 2017 it is Peugeot 3008, which recently also became Slovenian car of the year 2017. The winner was announced on the eve of the launch Geneva Motor Show. In the final, there were seven cars from different categories, from city cars, prestigious cruisers, to the middle class. The car of the year was chosen by a jury consisting of 58 journalists (he represented Slovenia Sebastjan Plevnjak) from 22 countries.

It is a Peugeot crossover in a tense match defeated by 319 votes Alpha Giulio, which collected 296 votes. That's already fifth European title for Peugeot and others after 2014 when it became the European Car of the Year Peugeot 308. He landed on the lowest step Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Alfa last won the title in 2001 (Alfa Romeo 147), and Mercedes in 1973 (model 450).
