Feminine oasis: see how amazingly this apartment in Ljubljana has changed

The apartment in the block from the 1960s called for renovation, which the owner - a retired lady - had wanted for a long time. The spatial design of old apartments mostly does not correspond to today's times. Small and dark spaces do not offer what we want today. However, every apartment has a hidden potential that interior designers must recognize and bring to life. And so it was this time too.

At POKE studio they decided to modern and clean lines, use natural materials and a bright color palette, which seemingly increases the space in which there is a lack of natural light. It is the basis of the color palette White color combined with a wide range shades of gray, which are softened by sophisticated nuances lilac color. This color combination is fresh and at the same time calm and relaxing. Gold accents but they bring additional elegance and a desirable bourgeois touch.

Although the apartment is small, the client wanted an apartment that is airy, open and full of elegant accents and sophisticated feminine-romantic patterns. The space was opened up or optically enlarged by removing part of the wall that previously separated the sleeping area from the corridor, and in this space, which is now much larger and airy, living room. The door and the small wall that separated the hallway and the kitchen were also removed, thus connecting the living room and the kitchen. The apartment is real custom designed by the customer, as most of the larger pieces of furniture, such as wardrobes, bathroom equipment and the dining bench, were designed according to her wishes.

The apartment turned into elegant gallery. Each room has a corner or part of the wall dedicated to works of art, such as pictures, statuettes and vases, which the lady has been collecting for many years. Many objects are carefully displayed in showcases and on open shelves and so they tell her stories from her travels around the world and bring back precious memories from the past.

Older apartments have their own hidden charm, and when we let someone professionally guide us through the entire process and let our imaginations run wild, we can create a wonderful home. The client was very satisfied with the final result and enjoys his days in his renovated apartment, which is, of course, the greatest reward for the designers.
