It's only been three years since Ferrari replaced the California T with the Portofino. And it's already time for a concrete surgical intervention under the sheet metal and some essential changes at Ferrari.
The main "technological" innovation of the model Ferrari Portofino M is a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The latter has for 20 percent smaller clutch module and 35 percent more torque than the transmission it replaces.
Although it is Portofino marked as an "entry" model in the "Italian stable", the Portofino M is still a real Ferrari in terms of performance. It just needs 3.45 seconds, to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h and reach the mark in less than ten seconds (in 9.8 seconds) 200 km/h. Acceleration can continue there until 320 km/h. With the new gearbox, it is a bit faster than its predecessor.
Portofino is the first Ferrari ever to be revealed exclusively online. Basically, the "rejuvenated" Portofino M model has some visual changes that gave the hardtop convertible a more aggressive look. Inside, there is a Manettino “dial” with five positions, including a new racing mode, which focuses mainly on increasing driving pleasure and fun behind the wheel. To improve nature GT car Ferrari offers new accessory options such as ventilated and heated seats and various Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The Portofino M will be followed by another world debut by the end of the year, as promised by Ferrari. The identity of the model has not been revealed, but it could be a stretched version of the 812 Superfast car, given that we've seen a lot of spy shots of prototypes testing recently. Will we hear from Ferrari before the end of the year?
