Between May 31 and June 4, 2017, the Kino Otok 2017 film festival will take place in Izola and other Slovenian locations. The program of one of the most important summer film festivals on our soil will include carefully selected films intended for lay and professional audiences. The special guest of this year's festival will be the Italian director Loredana Bianconi. You are welcome.
Film festival Kino Otok 2017 will take place between 31 May and 4 June 2017. The main venue of the festival remains his birthplace Izola, and some screenings will also spread the word about the event in other major Slovenian cities.
This year's festival program Cinema Island 2017 will include films that under the objective lens (which is perhaps the most objective when it is subjective) personal or social history. The idea behind the concept is woven mainly from the fact that we know very little about history, if we learn about it only from the perspectives of those who write it: the winners. Thus, the films that we will see as part of the festival will explore those historical stories that are perhaps remained silent for a long time.

It will be presented in the context of the perception of history Italian artist Loredana Bianconi with a new movie Across the Sea (Oltremare, 2017), and it will also be connected with the Kino Otok festival Austrian festival Diagonale, which will bring to Izola a set of more penetrating ones of Austrian short films.
