When Fisker relaunched the recently failed company, they announced and announced a major breakthrough in the field of batteries. This time they served an almost unbelievable patent, with which they announce a car battery with a range of 800 kilometers, which would be charged with electricity in just 60 seconds.
The company initially planned a completely new battery technology, but these plans were not realized. Now the manufacturer is announcing a "breakthrough" in the solid-state batteries that will power their electric vehicles, and at the same time filing more and more technology patents.
So a few days ago, Fisker patented a new solid "electrode structure" that could enable a battery with incredible specifications. The American automaker says the battery cells under development will feature three-dimensional electrodes with 2.5 times the density of lithium-ion batteries, allowing for a range of more than 500 miles (805 km) on a single charge, with a charging time of at least one minute.
Just like any breakthrough in forecasting automotive battery technology even this should be treated with a grain of salt, as only a few become commercial. Fisker says it should be technology ready for commercial use around 2023. But he has been designing new car models before, as he will present a new electric model “EMotion” at CES 2018.
